The token strike action launched by the Joint Council of Nursing, PSM and Paramedics Services yesterday, caused disruptions to operations at the Tangalle Base Hospital on Thursday
Our Correspondent in the area said that though doctors reported for duty today, other services at the hospital did not function. According to our correspondent, around 70 nursing officers need to report for duty on a daily basis, however only thirty two nursing officers had reported to work today.
Officials serving in positions supplementary to medical services such as laboratories, prescription services, physiotherapy and radiation therapy had not reported to work today. Due these services being hampered, patients arriving at the hospital were severely inconvenienced.
