A group of monks engaged in a Satyagraha opposite the United National Party Headquarters, Sirikotha in Pitakotte on Tuesday.

The Satyagraha was organised as a mark of protest against the assault on a group of monks at the UNP Headquarters on November 14. Earlier today, UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake sought an apology from a group of monks.

Meanwhile, UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe says a formal apology has not been conveyed to a group of monks over the recent incident. Wickremesinghe said that the leadership council of the UNP needs to approve the apology if it is to be made on behalf of the party and so far there was no approval.
