The chief suspect in the murder of five persons in Viharahalmilkulama in Anuradhapura has been further remanded until November 25.
The suspect had informed court earlier that he was willing to provide a confession today but he refused to provide this confession.
Therefore, the Anuradhapura District Judge Ruwandika Marapana ordered that he be further remanded. The judge also ordered the blood stained machete used for the murder, a shovel, clothing and the rest of the evidence be sent to the Judicial Medical Officer for DNA testing.
