Twenty-Two (22) Indian fishermen who were freed after being arrested on charges of violating the maritime border of Sri Lanka were handed over to the Indian Coast Guard on Friday.
Navy Media Spokesperson Commander, Kosala Warnakulasuriya said that the fishermen were handed to the Indian authorities in international waters off the coast of Mannar.
The fishermen who were arrested by the Navy for fishing alleged illegal in Sri Lankan waters were later released on court orders,
The Indian fishermen were handed over to the Indian Coast Guard through the Sri Lankan Navy vessel Udara.
