Two Arrested Over Dematagoda Shooting Attempt

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the attempted shooting of a man in Kuppiyawatta, Dematagoda.

The main suspect, a 23-year-old resident of Borella, was arrested in the Lake Drive area following a tip-off.

Police also recovered 10 grams and 900 milligrams of the drug Ice from his possession.

Investigations have revealed that the suspect allegedly acted as the motorcycle rider who transported the gunman to carry out the attack.

A second suspect, a 24-year-old resident of Borella, was also arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

Police said further investigations are underway to determine the second suspect's role in the attempted shooting.
