Ganethenna to Lower Kadugannawa Road Closed

COLOMBO (News 1st); The road between Ganethenna and Lower Kadugannawa has been temporarily closed after large volumes of mud, water and rocks spilled onto the roadway amid continuing adverse weather conditions.

Authorities said the closure was implemented as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of motorists travelling along the route, which has been affected by the ongoing heavy rainfall experienced in the area.

Deputy Director of the Kandy Disaster Management Centre, Indika Ranaweera, stated that alternative routes have now been introduced for motorists while clearance operations and safety assessments are carried out.
