COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Transport and Highways says construction of the Rambukkana–Galagedara section of the Central Expressway will begin by the end of this month.
The distance of this section of the highway is 19 kilometres.
The Ministry stated that construction of the Pothuhera–Rambukkana section has now reached its final stage.
It is scheduled to be opened to the public by March next year.
The Ministry of Transport and Highways also stated that construction of the Kadawatha–Mirigama section has been completed by around 50 percent.
Meanwhile, the Ministry said plans are in place to begin development of the Galagedara–Katugastota road as a four-lane road as soon as possible.
