Suspect Arrested with Crystal Meth in Puttalam to Be Remanded for Further Investigations

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Police say that steps are being taken to obtain a seven-day detention order for further investigations into a suspect arrested with crystal methamphetamine (ice) in Puttalam.

Police added that the suspect will be produced before court today.

A 33-year-old resident of Muilainagar in Puttalam was arrested with 3 kilograms and 290 grams of crystal meth, valued at over Rs. 30 million.

Meanwhile, a woman was arrested in Seenigama yesterday with a stock of heroin.

The suspect, a 42-year-old resident of Seenigama, Hikkaduwa, was found in possession of 6 kilograms and 534 grams of heroin at the time of her arrest.
