GovPay Surpasses Rs. 1 Billion in Digital Transactions

COLOMBO (News 1st): GovPay, the secure and convenient online payment platform designed to facilitate digital payments for Sri Lanka’s public services, has achieved a major milestone by surpassing Rs. 1 billion in total digital transactions.

Developed to simplify and digitize payments for citizens and businesses alike, GovPay enables seamless and secure payments for a wide range of government-related services including taxes, fines, utility bills, education fees, and other service charges, through banks and digital wallets.

As of today, GovPay has processed 40,920 transactions amounting to Rs. 1,001,469,008, partnering with nearly 200 government institutions to make digital payments more accessible, efficient, and transparent across Sri Lanka’s public sector.
