Four Killed in Separate Road Accidents Across Sri Lanka

COLOMBO(News 1st); Four people have died as a result of road accidents in several regions across the country. Police say that the accidents occurred in the Sinhapura, Anuradhapura, and Matale areas.

In the Weli Oya area, two people died when their motorcycle collided with a tipper truck at the Sinhapura Junction on the Weli Oya-Sinhapura Road. The two deceased were residents of the Weli Oya area, aged 28 and 30.

Meanwhile, in the Anuradhapura, a pedestrian died after being hit by a car in the Aluthwewa area on the Anuradhapura-Kurunegala Road. Police confirmed the deceased was a 52-year-old resident of the Anuradhapura area.

Furthermore, another pedestrian was killed after being hit by a passenger bus near a bus stop on the Matale-Gongawela Road. The victim was a 95-year-old resident of Kaludewala, Matale. The driver of the bus involved in the accident has been arrested, and the Matale Police are conducting further investigations.
