COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan police have revealed that the female lawyer arrested in connection with aiding and abetting the suspect in the Ganemulla Sanjeewa murder case may have also represented other high-profile criminals in legal proceedings.

Investigations have uncovered that the suspect had previously appeared on behalf of Nadun Chinthaka, alias Harak Kata, during his arrest in Madagascar.

Additionally, she is reported to have represented another individual arrested in India for border violations.

Authorities are now conducting a broader investigation to determine whether she has provided legal assistance to other criminal figures.

The lawyer was arrested in the Kadawatha area and is currently being interrogated under a 72-hour detention order.

Her arrest comes from several suspicious actions allegedly taken to assist the gunman involved in the Ganemulla Sanjeewa shooting, including:

Providing two lawyer-style neckties to help the shooter gain access to the court complex.

Supplying two legal reference books, including the Criminal Procedure Code, to conceal the revolver.

Handing over a vehicle pass and a lawyer’s identification card to facilitate unauthorized access.
