Parliament Convenes to Approve Commodity and Excise Regulations

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka’s Parliament is scheduled to convene today at 9:30 a.m. under the leadership of Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne.

The day’s agenda includes the presentation of a Gazette notification issued under the Special Commodity Levy Act, which will be tabled for parliamentary approval. 

In addition, regulations under the Excise (Special Provisions) Act are also slated for debate. 

Parliament is expected to continue sittings throughout the week, with sessions scheduled until Friday.
