New Police Division Begins Accepting Complaints

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Proceeds of Crime Investigation began accepting public complaints today.

Police stated that a special counter has been opened at the main building of the Police Headquarters for this purpose.

The Proceeds of Crime Investigation Division was officially established yesterday as a new division under the Department of Police.

The bill on Proceeds of Crime was passed in Parliament on April 8, and signed by the Speaker on April 30.

Following the introduction of the relevant regulations, the Act is now in effect.
