Amber Alert Issued For Severe Lightning Across Several Provinces

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Meteorology has issued an amber advisory for severe lightning. 

Accordingly, Thundershowers accompanied with severe lightning are likely to occur in Northern, Northcentral, Eastern, Uva and North-western provinces and in Matale district.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. 

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
