COLOMBO (News 1st); The Foreign Ministry of China has announced that Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister, will visit Pakistan from August 20 to 22.
During the visit, Wang Yi will hold the Sixth Round of the China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue with Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan.
Indian National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at Hyderabad House in Delhi and held a fresh round of Special Representatives dialogue on the boundary question.
Wang Yi arrived in India on Monday (18) afternoon for a two-day visit. Indian and Chinese officials met in New Delhi for talks on the boundary question.
The meeting between National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is seen as a critical step towards improving bilateral relations ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to China for the SCO Summit.
Discussions focused on rebuilding mutual trust, managing disagreements, and stabilizing the borders.
The Chinese Foreign Minister stated, "a healthy and stable China-India relationship serves the fundamental and long-term interests of both countries."
The dialogue also covered economic ties, including the issue of critical minerals.
Both sides are working to build on the consensus reached during the 23rd round of special representative talks and a meeting between their leaders in Kazan last October
Wang Yi is currently in India, where he has already met with External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar.
During the meeting, Dr. Jaishankar said that the basis for any positive momentum in the bilateral ties is the ability to jointly maintain peace and tranquillity in the border areas. He said that it is also essential that the de-escalation process moves forward.
