COLOMBO (News 1st); Britain has signalled its support for the creation of a network of quality day-care centres covering all regions and workplaces in Sri Lanka.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between Hon. Minister of Women and Child Affairs Saroja Savithri Paulraj and the British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Andrew Patrick.
The British High Commissioner expressed readiness to provide resources for research and technical expertise to guide the programme’s success.
The Minister also outlined ongoing efforts to create opportunities for Sri Lankan women to engage in the country’s economic growth, while the High Commissioner affirmed his willingness to assist in expanding such programmes where needed.
