No Plans to Detain Retired Top CID Official: CIABOC

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) today (22) informed the Colombo Magistrate’s Court that there are no current plans to arrest retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Rohan Premarathna.

The statement was made during a hearing on a motion filed by Premarathna, requesting anticipatory bail. 

The former senior officer had sought legal protection, citing concerns that he might be arrested in connection with an investigation conducted by the Commission.

However, CIABOC clarified to the court that there is no intention at present to take Premarathna into custody.
