Man Found Brutally Killed and Set on Fire in Remote Area

COLOMBO (News 1st); A horrifying murder has shocked the quiet community of Bulathsinhala, where the charred body of a man was discovered on a deserted road in the Nagahadola area, according to local police.

The victim has been identified as Amarasinghe Bandula Geethananda Amarasinghe, a resident of Padukka. 

Police reports indicate that the body bore severe head injuries, and the victim had been set on fire after being bound with tires from the knees to the chest.

Investigators found a three-wheeler believed to have been used by the victim parked approximately 50 meters away from the scene. 

Preliminary inquiries revealed that the victim had left his home around 10:00 p.m. on May 27 and was last seen alive shortly thereafter.
