36-Hour Water Cut in Several Areas of Kandy Due to Pipeline Damage

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Kandy Municipal Council has announced that water supply to several areas within the Kandy city limits will be suspended for 36 hours, starting from 2 PM today until 2 AM the day after tomorrow.

The interruption is due to a pipeline system failure that occurred during construction work at the Kandy Goods Shed Bus Stand.

Accordingly, the water supply will be suspended in the area from the Peradeniya Road, William Gopallawa Mawatha, and the Court Complex area up to the Town Hall Junction.

Additionally, the Municipal Council stated that water supply will also be halted in the following areas during this period:

Asgiriya

Lake Round

Rajapihilla Mawatha

Buwelikada

Thennekumbura

Gurudeniya

Ampitiya

All streets within the Kandy city

The Kandy Municipal Council has advised residents in the affected areas to make the necessary arrangements in advance to manage during the water outage period.
