Ex-SLPP MP Arrested Over Illegal Land Deal, Granted Bail

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Member of Parliament Milan Jayathilaka has been released on bail after being arrested earlier today by officials from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

Jayathilaka was granted bail on a surety of Rs. 1 million.

The arrest relates to allegations stemming from his tenure as Chairman of the Pugoda Pradeshiya Sabha. He is accused of authorizing an illegal land transaction in violation of established legal procedures.
