Bus Accident in Aladeniya, Kandy Injures 37, Including 9 Children

COLOMBO (News 1st): 37 people have been injured in a bus accident in Kulugammana area of Aladeniya, Kandy.

The bus has been occupied by a group of people travelling to Kulugammana on a leisure trip. 

Among the injured are nine children under the age of 15.

The accident has taken place around 10 p.m. last night, where the injured were admitted to Peradeniya, Kandy, and Thittapajjala hospitals for treatment.

It was identified that 38 passengers have been on board at the time of the incident.

Preliminary investigations into the incident suggest that a brake failure may have caused the accident.

According to police, the passengers were residents of Ehetuwewa, Galgamuwa.
