Colombo, (News 1st) - The Disaster Management Center (DMC) announced today that the lower Kadugannawa section of the Colombo-Kandy main road will remain closed due to the ongoing removal of dangerous rocks along the route.

"The road closure is necessary to ensure the safety of motorists," said Pradeep Kodippili, Director of the DMC. "We understand the inconvenience this may cause, but we urge drivers to use alternative routes until the work is completed."

The DMC advises drivers traveling from Colombo to Kandy to utilize the Colombo-Kurunegala Highway and access Kandy via the Galagedara Road through Rambukkana. Alternatively, drivers can use the Gampola-Kandy Road through Hemmathagama and Mawanella.
