406 suspects apprehended in special operation to combat organized crime

Colombo (News 1st); 12 suspects including 6 members of organized criminal gangs have been taken into Police custody.

The suspects were apprehended during special raids conducted in the Western and Southern Provinces.

A 32 year old suspect was apprehended in the Homagama Police Division.

Another member of an organized crime gang was apprehended during raids conducted in Kaduwela.

The suspect is a 27 year old.

Police say members of organized criminal gangs were apprehended in Matugama, Angulana, Mirihana, Talpe, Kottawa, Poragodella areas.

The Police added that 6 other suspects who are suspected of aiding and abbeting in criminal activities carried out by these criminal gangs have also been apprehended.

So far, A total of 406 suspects have been arrested in this special operation to combat organized crime.
