Prices of imported goods and VAT to be revised daily, says Ranjith Siyambalapitiya

COLOMBO (News 1st) - State Minister for Finance Dr. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya says that the price of imported goods and the Value Added Tax will be announced daily to control the price of essential goods during the upcoming festive season.

The State Minister says that accordingly, the relevant prices will be announced by the Consumer Affairs Authority from next Monday.

He adds that the value of the Sri Lanka Rupee has depreciated against the US Dollar.

The aim of this program is to pass the benefit to the consumers.

Meanwhile, the minister also mentioned that following the calling off of the trade union action by customs officials, all arrangements have been made for the supply of goods without a shortage, for the festival season.
