Health, Transport Declared As Essential Services

Colombo (News 1st): Two extraordinary gazettes were issued President's Secretary declaring several essential services.

As per the Essential Public Service Act, the Gazettes were issued on the order of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

As per the Gazette notification, all services, work or labour, of any description whatsoever, necessary or required to be done in connection with the maintenance, and the reception, care feeding, and treatment, of patients in hospitals, nursing homes, dispensaries, and other similar institutions have been declared as essential services with immediate effect.

The other declared Public Transport service by Railway Lines and postal Service as essential services
