Special traffic plan in action in Colombo for Independence day celebration

COLOMBO (News 1st) - DIG in charge of the Traffic Division, Indika Hapugoda said that a special traffic plan will be implemented in Colombo from 2 pm today.

He said that the traffic plan will be in place until the 76th Independence Day celebrations are concluded.

DIG Indika Hapugoda informs the general public to use alternative routes during the relevant period.

He said that related facilities will also be provided to people heading for the Katunayake Airport.

Meanwhile, the Department of Railways says that trains running on the coastal line from 5 am to 9 am tomorrow will not stop at the Presidential Secretariat, Kollupitiya, and Bambalapitiya stations, due to the Independence Day ceremony held at Galle Face Green.
