New public hotline set up for Dengue prevention and control

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A new public hotline has been set up for Dengue prevention and control. 

The Ministry of Health says that accordingly, the number 011 79 66 366 is now active. 

The Ministry of Health says that information about dengue breeding places and environmental problems can be reported to this number every day from 8 am to 8 pm.

Meanwhile, due to the rapid rise in the spread of dengue due to the prevailing rainy weather, the National Dengue Control Unit says that measures have been taken to implement an island-wide dengue control week from tomorrow.

Director Specialist Dr. Sudath Samaraweera said that during this dengue prevention week, special attention will be paid to 70 high-risk dengue zones in 15 districts.
