COLOMBO (News 1st); A meeting was held on Thursday (21) between the relatives of Sri Lankans who are being held captive by a group of terrorists in Myanmar and the National Anti Human Trafficking Task Force (NAHTTF).

During the meeting officials said a program is in place in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to rescue the group held by terrorists.

The National Anti Human Trafficking Task Force is an agency under the Ministry of Defence.

A daring rescue operation aimed at freeing Sri Lankan and international citizens from the notorious cybercrime camp in Myanmar's remote border region reportedly fell short on Thursday (21).

In recent days, News 1st revealed the plight of 56 Sri Lankan youth trapped in the cybercrime camp on the Myanmar-Thailand border.

The Sri Lankan Embassy in Myanmar is also racing to secure their release.
