COLOMBO (News 1st); A person has been arrested at the Katunayake Airport for illegally importing a consignment of foreign cigarettes into the island.
The police said the suspect had packed 22,800 cigarettes in two suitcases when importing them to the island.
He arrived in Sri Lanka from Dubai via Muscat, Oman.
The arrested suspect is to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate's Court.
