PUCSL tells CEB to conduct independent audit on revenue, and power generation cost

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Energy Regulator has informed the Ceylon Electricity Board to conduct an independent audit with regard to its revenue, and electricity generation cost.

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka said that this measure was taken as the data produced by the CEB from time to time in order to cover its costs was inaccurate.

The administration of the Ceylon Electricity Board was informed by the PUCSL to announce the party that would conduct the independent audit with regard to its revenue, and electricity generation cost, before the end of the month.

In addition, the PUCSL has advised the CEB to produce its proposals to reduce electricity tariffs before the end of the month.

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka said that based on the proposals produced by the CEB, it would provide its recommendations on revising the existing electricity tariffs in January 2024.
