Dengue control programmes in Trinco and Batticaloa

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Dengue Control Unit said a special mosquito control programme will be implemented in the Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts from Monday (04).

Director of the Unit Specialist Dr. Nalin Ariyaratne said the dengue risk has increased in those areas with the prevailing showers.

77,487 dengue cases have been reported in Sri Lanka so far this year.

The National Dengue Control Unit said the highest number of cases were reported from the Western Province, which is 47.1 percent of the total cases.

46 dengue related deaths have also been reported so far this year.
