Ceylon Bank Employees' Union has strongly opposed the privatization of state banks.

The union's stance was made clear at the recent National Conference of the Ceylon Bank Employees' Union.

Ranjan Senanayake, General Secretary of the Ceylon Bank Employees' Union, addressed the conference and expressed the union's firm opposition to privatization.

The union will not tolerate any attempts to sell off state banks, he emphasized.

Channa Dissanayake, Chairman of the Ceylon Bank Employees' Union, echoed Senanayake's sentiments, saying that privatization would be detrimental to the interests of both bank employees and the general public.

State banks play a vital role in the national economy and should remain under government ownership, he stressed.
