COLOMBO (News 1st); Five people, including Dr. Kapila Wickramanayake, the Director of the Medical Supplies Division of the Health Ministry, who were arrested by the CID over the substandard Human Immunoglobulin delivery, were remanded to the 13th of December.
The case filed over the substandard Human Immunoglobulin delivery was called up in the presence of Maligakanda Magistrate Lochani Abeywickrama.
Recently it was revealed that 22,500 vials of substandard Human immunoglobulin, produced using human blood, were ordered using forged documentation.
Initially, it was mentioned that the vials were imported to the country, however, later it was revealed that the vials were in fact produced in Sri Lanka.
The value of the consigned of Human immunoglobulin is estimated at almost Rs. 1 Billion.
