Sri Lankan woman’s body recovered from Lebanon rubble

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The body of a Sri Lankan woman was recovered from the rubble of a collapsed building in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.
Spokesperson of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau Gamini Senarath Yapa says the deceased was a 65-year-old resident of Mirissa, Matara.
The building collapsed last Monday (16).
Gamini Senarath Yapa adds that steps will be taken to bring her remains to Sri Lanka, based on a request by her family.
