Indonesian woman arrested at BIA with cocaine worth over Rs. 230 million

COLOMBO (News 1st) - An Indonesian woman who tried to smuggle Cocaine worth over Rs. 230 million was arrested by customs officials at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake.

She had tried to smuggle 4.598 kg of Cocaine into the country by hiding it among books.

The 42-year-old woman arrived in Sri Lanka from the Addis Ababa International Airport in Ethiopia via the Doha International Airport in Qatar.

The suspect and the narcotics were handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.
