COLOMBO (News 1st); Operations Superintendent of Sri Lanka Railways M. J. Indipolage said that Railway Services will be delayed due to a suddent strike launched by a group railway workers.

M. J. Indipolage said that a security officer attached to the Maligawatta Railway Yard had assaulted a Railway Guard prompting the workers to go on strike.

He said that moving trains out of the Maligawatta Railway Yard has been suspended.

He added that several trains will be delayed and some will be cancelled due to the strike.
