COLOMBO (News 1st); The Disaster Management Center said a Regional Tsunami Simulation Exercise will be held on Wednesday (04).

In a statement, the DMC said the exercise will be held with the participation of 28 countries in the Indian Ocean region.

This has been organized with the aim of developing the capacity of regional countries to face a tsunami disaster, and is set to be held in the Trincomalee, Galle and Matara districts from 9.30am to 11.30am.

This has been organized by the Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System and UNESCO.

The DMC requested the public to refrain from having undue fear of a tsunami risk and to spreading misinformation, during this period.
