COLOMBO (News 1st) – Engineers say that stalling the repair work of the Samanala wewa water leak will have to face many adverse consequences.
Engineer Bhadra Kamaladasa, President of the Sri Lanka Institution of Engineers, says that the engineers managed to find these water leaks during the last drought.
She adds that it is surprising that the Minister of Power and Energy has decided to postpone it until 2025, despite asking the CEB to allow it to be renovated as soon as possible.
Bhadra Kamaladasa states that if the right bank of the Samanala Lake reservoir breaks due to the water leakage, it could cause a severe disaster.
