COLOMBO (News 1st); Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe said that if the Central Bank of Sri Lanka or the Finance Ministry had violated the constitution, the most appropriate measure would be to take the matter to court.

He said that the people must decide on the politicians, who instead of taking such a matter to court, continue to make statements calling to cause damages to the residences of the officials.

"The latest opinion in society is that the Finance Ministry and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka have violated the constitution. If the Finance Ministry and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka have violated the constitution, any official has a right to take legal action against such a person as per the constitution," said the Central Bank Governor adding that he will support any such move.
