COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has called for all volumes of the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to probe the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks, be made available for all parliamentarians to peruse.

Noting that his privileges as a member of parliament were violated, the Opposition Leader said that when he requested for the volumes of the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry via his office, the Parliament Library informed him that the second and third volumes could not be made available but could be perused by visiting the Parliament Library.

"The parliament officials are following a directive that was issued during the tenure of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. In addition, they said that we need to peruse the documents in the presence of the Parliament Secretary General," said Premadasa questioning whether MPs must operate under the supervision of the Parliament Secretary General.

He demanded that all volumes of the report be made available to the parliamentarians, noting that "those who are concealing these reports, are those with blood on their hands."

At the same time, he slammed the ruling faction, which the speaker also represents, for using the Easter Sunday attacks to achieve power in governance.
