Afghanistan lose to Sri Lanka by two runs in thriller

Afghanistan lost to Sri Lanka by two runs in a keenly contested affair on Tuesday. Chasing 292, the Afghans were bowled out for 289 runs in 37.4 overs. 

Sri Lanka posted 291 for 8 in 50 overs despite Gulbadin Naib' four-wicket haul (4 for 60), thanks to Kusal Mendis' 92-run knock. Rashid Khan took two wickets while Mujeeb Ur Rahman got one for Afghanistan. 

Fifties from Mohammad Nabi and Hashmatullah Shahidi went in vain as Sri Lanka beat Afghanistan by 2 runs to enter the Super 4 stage of Asia Cup 2023 on Tuesday.
