President meets Human Rights Commission members

COLOMBO (News 1st) - President Ranil Wickremesinghe has met with the members and Chairman of he Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka, at the President's Office. 

At the meeting which was held last evening, the Commission pointed out that there is a shortage of staff for the investigation of complaints. 

The commission members informed the President that the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka has received over 11,000 public complaints as of now. 

The President's Media Division says that President Wickremesinghe stated that he will take steps to curb the issue of the shortage of staff. 

The President's Media Division stated that the President also requested the Commission to immediately prepare and present a set of guidelines got government officials and police officers.
