COLOMBO (News 1st) - President Ranil Wickremesinghe has convened an all-party meeting scheduled for next Wednesday (26) evening at the President's House. Leaders of all political parties representing the parliament have been invited to participate.
The meeting will address important matters, including the 13th amendment of the Constitution and initiatives to promote national harmony. The 13th Amendment was also a topic of discussion during President Wickremesinghe's recent official visit to India, where he met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Earlier before his visit, the President held a meeting with Tamil parliamentarians representing the northern and eastern provinces, expressing that the full enforcement of the 13th amendment requires consensus among all party leaders regarding the devolution of powers.
