Gangster 'Anta' stabbed in prison brawl

COLOMBO (News 1st); An inmate held at the Galle Prison suffered stab wounds following a altercation between two factions on Wednesday (19) night.

The inmate in question was identified as Sujith Prasanna aka 'Anta' from Kosgoda, and he was hospitalized for treatment.

Commissioner General of Prisons, Thushara Upuldeniya said that 4 inmates attacked Sujith Prasanna with a sharp weapon.

Sujith Prasanna was admitted to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The inmate in question was also the target of a shooting that took place in Galvehera, Ahunagalle on the 10th of September 2022.

In June 2023, he was arrested by the Police Special Task Force on the charge of heroin possession.
