COLOMBO (News 1st) – Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has announced the forthcoming appointment of an independent expert committee to promptly investigate allegations raised by various parties concerning specific drugs.

The minister further disclosed that the committee will comprise five specialist doctors who will conduct an impartial examination of issues related to certain drugs and other health sector concerns. The committee will subsequently provide recommendations for immediate action.

Minister Rambukwella emphasized that the approval of the Cabinet will be sought for this committee.

In addition, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella shared that he plans to deliver a special statement in parliament next week, addressing the quality of medicines and the overall situation within the health sector.
