Party meetings to be held immediately to reach consensus on domestic debt restructuring

COLOMBO (News 1st): A meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs is scheduled to be held next Tuesday.

It will be held at 11 am with the participation of the party leaders represented in Parliament under the chairmanship of the Speaker.

A senior party leader stated that as they are prepared to get approval for a proposal related to the restructuring of domestic debt, a decision was made to convene the parliament immediately.

Parliament is scheduled to be reconvened on July 4.

Meanwhile, the parliamentary group of Samagi Jana Balavegaya is scheduled to meet tomorrow morning, under the leadership of the opposition leader Sajith Premadasa.

One of its seniors said that there will be further discussion about the position of Samagi Jana Balawegaya regarding the restructuring of domestic debt.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the ruling party is scheduled to be held next Wednesday (28).

A member of the ruling party said that the meeting will be held under the chairmanship of the President at 5 pm on Wednesday (28).
