COLOMBO (News 1st); A female Police Constable and a defendant were injured in an attack that took place inside the Bakamuna Police Station on Thursday (8) while a complaint was being examined.

Sri Lanka Police said that a complaint filed with the Police Children & Women Bureau over a family dispute was being examined, and during the process, the man who filed the complaint had pulled out a concealed weapon and carried out the attack.

The female Police Constable and the defendant who were injured in the attack were admitted to the Polonnaruwa Hospital for treatments.

The suspect was arrested and will be produced in court on Friday (9).
