COLOMBO (News 1st); A special discussion will be held on Wednesday (07) between members of the Committee on Public Finance and President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The situation that has arisen due to the failure to appoint a permanent chairman to the Committee on Public Finance will be discussed with the President at the meeting due to be held at the Parliamentary complex.

The opposition had proposed the name of Dr. Harsha De Silva as the permanent chairman to the Committee on Public Finance.

However, the appointment was not made for almost six months.

Instead, government MPs appointed temporary chairmen and obtained approval of the Committee on Public Finance for various acts over this period.
