COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera has requested the public NOT to panic on fuel shortages.
He said that the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation and Lanka IOC have adequate fuel stocks.
The Minister noted that the existing shortage is due to the non placement of orders by Fuel Station owners anticipating a fuel price reduction.
"Dealers has been required to maintain a minimum stock of 50%. I have asked CPC to review & suspend the license of fuel stations that had not maintained minimum stocks," he tweeted.
