Remains of Dinesh Schaffter to be exhumed on Thursday (25)

COLOMBO (News 1st); The remains of the late-Dinesh Schaffter, a Colombo based businessman who died under mysterious circumstances, are to be exhumed on Thursday (25).

Police Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa told News 1st that the remains will be exhumed based on the request made to the court by the Committee of Medical Experts appointed to investigate the death of the late businessman.

Police security was provided to the grave of the late Dinesh Schaffter at the Borella Public Cemetery.

Investigations into the death of Dinesh Schaffter are conducted by the Homicide and Organized Crimes Division of the Criminal Investigations Department.

CID Detectives have recorded statements from a number of people with regard to the death of Dinesh Schaffter.

On the 15th of December 2022, Schaffter was found with his hand tied and strangled inside his own car at the Public Cemetery in Borella, and according to the family, he died that night in hospital.
